UPS uninterruptible power supply safety instructions, installation precautions, maintenance and care.

2024-10-30

This article mainly introduces the UPS uninterruptible power supply safety instructions, installation precautions, maintenance and care.

1. Safety instructions

● Even if the UPS is not connected to the mains, its power output socket still has a 220V voltage.

● In order to reduce the risk of electric shock caused by poor grounding of the load equipment, the AC input power supply should be disconnected when installing the computer interface signal line, and the power supply can only be connected after all signal connectors are connected.

● When the UPS is connected to the AC input power supply with a ground wire, it must be equipped with an appropriate branch circuit protector (circuit breaker). Connecting it to any other type of socket may cause electric shock injury.

● If the charging cable or power cable needs to be replaced, please purchase raw materials from our service station or dealer to avoid heating or sparking due to insufficient capacity, causing fire.

● Do not use fire to treat batteries or battery packs, otherwise they will explode and injure people.

● Do not open or damage the battery. The overflowed electrolyte is highly toxic and harmful to the human body.

● Please avoid short circuit of the positive and negative poles of the battery, otherwise it will cause electric shock or fire.

● Do not open the UPS case by yourself, there is a risk of electric shock.

● Do not touch the battery connection terminals. The battery circuit is not isolated from the input voltage circuit, and there will be a high voltage danger between the battery terminal and the ground.

● It is not suitable to connect electrical equipment such as hair dryers and electric heaters to ensure the safety of the machine.

【Note】

☆ There is high voltage in the UPS. To avoid personal safety, please consult the dealer's professional personnel if you have any questions.

☆ Do not try to repair the UPS. The UPS does not contain any parts that the user may maintain and this UPS contains potential dangerous voltages. Repairs can only be performed by qualified maintenance personnel trained by the factory. If the user repairs or modifies it by himself, the warranty will be cancelled.

2. Installation precautions

● The area where the UPS is placed must be well ventilated and away from water, flammable gases and corrosive agents.

● It is not suitable for measurement and placement. The air inlet at the bottom of the front panel, the fan outlet at the rear cover, and the air inlet on the side of the box should be kept unobstructed.

● The ambient temperature of the UPS should be kept between 0℃ and 40℃.

● If the machine is disassembled and used at low temperatures, water droplets may condense. Be sure to wait until the inside and outside of the machine are completely dry before installing and using it, otherwise there is a risk of electric shock.

● Please place the UPS near the AC input socket so that you can unplug the AC input plug and cut off the power in an emergency.

【Note】

☆ When connecting the load to the UPS, you must first turn off the load, then connect the wires, and then turn on the loads one by one.

☆ Connect the UPS to a dedicated socket with an overcurrent protection device.

☆ The power socket used should be connected to the protective ground terminal.

☆ Regardless of whether the input power cord is plugged into the AC socket, the UPS output may be energized. Turning off the UPS does not guarantee that the internal components are not energized. If you want to make the UPS have no output, you must first turn off the switch and then cancel the AC power supply.

☆ When you need to connect inductive loads such as motors, monitors, and laser printers, because their running starting power is too large, when selecting UPS, the capacity should be calculated based on the starting power. The starting power is generally twice the rated power.

☆ If you connect a generator, follow the steps below:

Start the generator, wait for it to run stably, connect the generator's output power to the UPS input (make sure the UPS is unloaded at this time), then start the UPS according to the startup procedure, and after the UPS starts, connect the loads one by one (it is recommended to select the generator capacity with twice the capacity of the UPS).

3. Maintenance and care

● The battery of the standard model is valve-regulated, low-maintenance, and only needs to be charged frequently to obtain the expected life. When the UPS is connected to the mains, it always charges the battery regardless of whether it is turned on or not, and provides overcharge and over-discharge protection functions.

● If the UPS is not used for a long time, it is recommended to charge it every four to six months.

● Under normal circumstances, the battery life is three to five years. If it is found to be in poor condition, it must be replaced in advance. When replacing the battery, it must be performed by professionals.

● Batteries should not be replaced individually. When replacing the whole battery, the instructions of the battery supplier should be followed.

● Under normal circumstances, the battery should be charged and discharged once every four to six months, and the charging time should not be less than 12 hours after the battery is discharged to the shutdown state.

● In high temperature areas, the battery should be charged and discharged once every two months, and the charging time should not be less than 12 hours for the standard machine.

【Note】
☆ Before replacing the battery, the UPS must be turned off and disconnected from the mains.
☆ Take off metal objects such as rings and watches.
☆ Use a screwdriver with an insulated handle, and do not place tools or other metal objects on the battery.
☆ When connecting the battery cable, it is normal for a small spark to appear at the joint, which will not cause harm to personal safety or UPS.
Never short-circuit or reverse the positive and negative poles of the battery.
